I feel grouchy

I don't think it's the heat, because it's warm but not unbearably so. I suspect it's wedding planning, and that makes me even grouchier because I'm not supposed to be a bridezilla. I'm supposed to be calm. But we're a month out and it feels like we have a lot to do.

And people are not RSVPing. A note to anyone who gets invited to a wedding or other large event: Even if you're not attending, you still have to RSVP! That's just common courtesy. This isn't a frat party that you can decide on at the last minute. This is a wedding. There are caterers and cake-bakers (not to mention a napkin-folder and a favor-maker) who need to know the headcount ASAP.

Sorry for that outburst.

Maybe I need more coffee. Or less.

Be brave, Stephanie, I know how it feels. I got married almost four years ago and I think that 3 people out of 250 RSVPed. I enlisted the support of my parents as well as my inlaws and asked them to call everybody and see if they will come or not.
Many stressful moments are awaiting, unhappily, so please try to keep as relaxed as possible and not let them spoil your beautiful moment.

Hey stephanie and mike - we'll definitely be there.

Probably should have sent something non-digital back in response to the beautiful invitation, but well, we're on the other side of the world and real mail is so victorian.

Mind you, I do get excited when the friend who still sends postcards sends one to us...

See you on the 16th (or thereabouts. we may be a bit jetlagged)
